On Thursday, December 11th, DV8 Dance Complex proudly hosted a Hip Hop Master Class with world-renowned dancer and choreographer Phil Wright, welcoming both DV8 dancers and visiting dancers from the community for an unforgettable training experience.
The studio was filled with energy, creativity, and connection as dancers from different backgrounds came together to train, learn, and grow under one of the most influential names in hip hop.
Training with a Global Hip Hop Leader
Phil Wright is an internationally recognized hip hop dancer, choreographer, and producer whose impact spans television, music, and live performance. He currently serves as the Executive Producer and Choreographer of Disney’s Fam Jam and has choreographed for some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry.
After relocating from Miami to Los Angeles in 2013, Phil expanded his career and creative reach, working on music videos and stage performances for artists such as Lil Nas X, Will Smith, MC Hammer, TLC, and G-Eazy featuring Cardi B.
In 2017, Phil founded The Parent Jam™, inspired by his passion for bringing kids and their families together through dance — a mission that strongly aligns with DV8’s belief in community, inclusivity, and the power of movement.
Hip Hop Training That Brings Dancers Together
This master class emphasized confidence, musicality, and individuality — core elements of hip hop culture. Phil challenged dancers to step outside their comfort zones, move with intention, and embrace their unique style.
By opening this master class to both DV8 dancers and guests, DV8 created an environment where dancers could connect, collaborate, and train alongside peers from across the area— reinforcing our commitment to inclusivity and elevated training opportunities.
